I Love My Brother Layout ~Dusty Attic~

I love this photo I took of my youngest two kiddos.  My baby girl adores her big brother!  I created this using bits and pieces from current and past Scraps of Elegance kits.  I added in a few Dusty Attic chippies as well.  As always I am selling Dusty Attic chippies in my Etsy shop.
This is one of the Corner Flourish #3 DA0623 chippies.  I inked it and shaded it in a bit.

This chippie is from the ATC Frames set #1 DA0691 and I used the Martha Stewart Alph punch for the letters.
In this photo you can see the Mini Picket Fence DA0698

~Isn't She Lovely Dusty Attic Layout~

I am loving the fact that my kids are getting inspired and have begun taking some pretty amazing photos of each other.  This photo is of my daughter, Tyler, and was taken by my other daughter, Rylee.  I edited it a bit and came out with a beautiful soft photo.  I created this layout using the July Scraps of Elegance kit.  I added some Dusty Attic chippies to this as well.
Some Close Ups!  This is one of my all time favorite Dusty Frames.  This is called Vintage Frame DA0254.
The leaves are from a Heartfelt Creations stamp.  I colored them with the new Tim Holtz Distress Markers!! Love those things!!
These little brackets, I cut out and used to create table legs.
This cute little birds nest is a Dusty Chippie along with egg Chippies.  Birds Nest #2 DA0721, Mini Eggs DA0722.

~Layout with a Grunge Chippie Tutorial~

Hi Again, It's Mandy!!  For this post I thought it would be fun to show you how to create a super grundgy chippie using a Want 2 Scrap chipboard flourish.  I also added it to a layout I made of Michelle Grant, one of Donna's fabulous designers!  So here we go!!
Here's a close up of the chippie I created!!
Not All is Pictured, but You will Need:
Mod Podge
Napkin or Tissue Paper
Paint Brushes
Water
Chippie of your Choice
Embossing Powder
Smooch Spritz
Coat the top of your chippie with Mod Podge.  I used sparkle, because it was right there and ready to use, while my plain Mod Podge was sitting on the shelf :)
If you use tissue paper, just leave it as is, but if you use an old napkin then pull off the backside and just use the top layer.  Glue your chippie to the napkin.  You will not see the pattern of the napkin, so you can even use the backside that you tore off.
Tear or cut along the edges, like shown.
Coat the top with Mod Podge again.
Take a smaller paint brush and go around the edges of your chippie to push the napkin down.  I use water as well, to dilute the glue even further and it makes the napkin even more workable.  It's ok if it tears or sticks out form the edges a little.
 Here's mine done.
Pour on the embossing powder nice and thick.  Use a heat tool and then let it cool.
Take a tool that punches through the open spaces of your chippie.  It's ok if the napkin tears or comes off a little in spots.
Spray your chippie with Smooch Spritz.  I used Evergreen on mine.  Let dry and you are left with a super grungy chippie with loads of texture!!
 A couple more close ups!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Below you will find a list of products I used to create this layout!!

~Scraps of Darkness July True Romance Reveal~

Another month and another awesome kit from Scraps of Darkness kit club called True Romance!!  This months kit is full of Prima, Websters, Carta Bella, and Glitz papers!!  This is once again another amazingly versatile kit that can go both dark and light!! Let's get started!!

This first layout is my take on this month's sketch by Charlotte aka Suepup.   The photo was taken by my daughter Rylee of her sister Tyler.

This background was all done in pieces of paper towels I had lying on my desk.  I love the texture it gives.  I just lightly glued them down and sprayed them with mists.

My next layout is from the lighter side of the kit.  Another photo taken by Rylee.

Another lighter layout.  I took these pictures of my daughter, Brooklyn playing in the kitchen wearing her Snow White dress.  This is a pretty simple layout overall.  I struggle with multiple pics, but I wanted to put the set of three on here.

This last page is of my daughter, Tyler and her bestie Aliya.  They have been friends since Kindergarten.

I bought the set of Distress Markers by Tim Holtz and colored in these leaves.  Love those markers.
